Why should you attend the gift?

If you’ve read the ‘About’ page then you probably won’t take much convincing. Mindfulness has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and anxiety and to help develop a sense of wellbeing? How often do we do something just for ourselves and our loved ones. The gift of a little time, being looked after with comfort, delicious wholesome food, and some peace!

Is attending a retreat suitable for everyone?

Nearly everyone finds it entirely beneficial and if you have any concerns over your physical, emotional or mental health please discuss this with your doctor beforehand and also in confidence with one of our facilitators.

Here at The Gift Retreats we look after your safety and well-being first and, in some rare circumstances, it may be necessary for you to seek medical consent before attending.

Occasionally, and quite understandably, attendees can find it a little emotional to experience such a profound sense of peace and tranquillity, so sometimes a few tears are shed in, what we do our best to make, a very nurturing environment.

How do I book my gift retreat?

To book onto one of our Gift Retreats please visit our BOOK NOW page.

Once there please click on the retreat date that you wish to book.

You then need to choose a room. There are three different types of room to choose from standard, premium and VIP.

Once you have decided on your choice of room you can then select 1 person or 2 persons sharing.

Click on the Buy Now button in order to book your retreat.

This button will take you to paypal which is a secure online payment system where you can either pay using your card by clicking on the Pay with debit or credit card button or using your paypal account.

(If you need to pay via a bank transfer or with a cheque please contact us at info@thegiftretreats.co.uk and we would be happy to help you.)

Once you have paid for your retreat you will have secured your booking. Once payment has been received you will receive a confirmation email from The Gift Retreats with your welcome letter.

Unfortunately we do not reserve places without payment.

How much does the gift retreat cost?

Virtual Day Retreats via Zoom = £60pp

Prices for our 3 night retreat:

Standard room 1 person  =   £450

Standard room 2 persons sharing = £800

Premium room 1 person  =  £500

Premium room 2 persons sharing = £900

VIP room 1 person  =  £550

VIP room 2 persons sharing £1000

 

Prices for our 4 night retreat:

Standard room 1 person  =   £600

Standard room 2 persons sharing = £1100

Premium room 1 person  =  £650

Premium room 2 persons sharing = £1200

VIP room 1 person  =  £700

VIP room 2 persons sharing 1300

What does the price of my retreat include?

Our standard room price for a 3 night retreat is £450 or £600 for a 4 night retreat. This price includes your stay in one of our beautiful and comfortable rooms, 3 delicious vegetarian meals with two tea and coffee breaks each day and a full programme of guided mindful activities. (All rooms have access to a communal kitchen where you can store and make your own food and drinks if you wish. VIP rooms have their own kitchen area.)

The only additional costs will be for any extra nights accommodation that you may wish to book or if you choose to purchase drinks at the bar.

Do you cater for mobility issues and specific needs?

We pride ourselves on catering for everyone. We are very happy to adapt activities were we can to suit the needs of everyone on the retreat and we always try our best to catered for any specific requirements you may have. We have two rooms that would suit disability and mobility needs. Tawstock Court is set in beautiful grounds and we want all participants to be able to take full advantage of them. For those who may have mobility issues, we have an all terrain vehicle to help you access all activities and areas of the grounds. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs and we will try our best to accommodate you.

What are the arrival/ departure times?

The first day arrival time/check in is between 4pm and 5pm. The final day departure time in 12noon.

How do I get to Tawstock Court?

Tawstock Court is just 2 miles outside of Barnstaple – just a couple of minutes drive from the A361 link road. There are three different routes to get to the village of Tawstock and it is signposted when you get there.

If your are coming via public transport it is a short taxi ride from Barnstaple train station.

What happens if I have to cancel?

Retreat bookings are non- refundable. We can offer a transfer to a later retreat date of the same value as long as we have at least 6 weeks notice in order to re-sell your place.

We rely on a certain number per booking for each retreat in order to cover costs and as such our policy is non-negotiable.

What happens if we have to cancel a retreat?

At the Gift Retreats we reserve our right to cancel retreat for whatever reason, which may be owing to insufficient numbers, the availability of staff or tutors, or other reasons beyond our control.

In this event, however, your course fee will be refunded in full. Every endeavour will be made to inform you of this at least one week prior to the course.

The Gift Retreats can accept no further liability for course cancellations beyond the course fee refund.

Can I transfer my booking?

If you need to transfer your booking to an alternative retreat date we are happy to try and accommodate you as best we can. However we rely on a certain number per booking for each retreat in order to cover costs and as such we are only able to transfer your booking if we are able to re-sell your original place.

We recommend you take out your own insurance in case you have to cancel through illness or unforeseen circumstances. Guest First insurance forms are available by calling Guest First on 0345 90 80 101.
